Cheung Tsz Hin

Born in Hong Kong, Cheung Tsz Hin's work delicately captures the essence of everyday objects and experiences, seamlessly blending elements of reality and personal memories. His art serves as a bridge between reality and recollection, frequently depicting the blossoming and decaying of plants, reminding us of the passage of time and the significance of being – a theme rooted in his rural upbringing. Having moved to a more urban setting for his university studies, his fascination extends to everyday personal situations as well as the interplay of light with various elements in his surroundings, allowing his inner world to manifest on the canvas.

Cheung’s works evoke a sense of intimacy and connection amidst a gloomy atmosphere. Constructed from exceedingly thin layers of paint, his works carry a deeply personal quality, seamlessly merging memories with the present environment. This harmony fosters an atmosphere of serenity and unity. By meticulously portraying the intricate interplay between the tangible and intangible, Cheung utilizes his art as a conduit for preserving life's transient moments. His paintings serve as vessels of remembrance, capable of encapsulating and recording those seemingly inconsequential instances in life.
