Newchild Books is pleased to announce the publication of Andrew Sendor: Selected Works 2025–2026, launched on the occasion of the artist’s solo presentation, The Most Common of All Miracles, at The Armory Show in New York, September 24–27, 2026.
Bringing together works produced over the past two years, the publication examines Sendor’s sustained engagement with painting, photography, performance, and invented narrative. His practice begins with elaborate fictional scenarios that are brought to life through staged performances involving actors, bespoke costumes, constructed environments, and carefully orchestrated tableaux. These performances are subsequently photographed, forming the source material from which his meticulously rendered paintings and drawings emerge.
The publication coincides with Sendor’s first solo presentation in New York since his 2017 exhibition at Sperone Westwater and introduces a body of work that expands the technical precision and psychological intensity of his practice into a newly ambitious scale.
Richly illustrated with paintings, photographs, details, and archival material, the hardcover monograph is the third publication from Newchild Books. It includes an essay by art historian and author Dr Ben Street and a conversation between Sendor and Goedele Bartholomeeusen, Director of Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, Belgium.
Published by Newchild Books in collaboration with M.J. Jacobs, LLC., its intimate format and full-bleed reproductions foreground both the meticulous materiality of Sendor’s paintings and the complex relationship between fiction, photography, and the handmade image that underpins his practice.
